Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to be a member to audition for one of your shows?

Our auditions are open to anyone who is interested in getting  involved with our shows. However, you will need to get a membership if you are cast in a show (this is the same for backstage crew!).

How much are membership fees?

Membership to the Canterbury Players costs £30. Our memberships run from the 1st of September until the 31st of August each year.

Are there any additional costs?

If you are cast in a production, there may also be a performance fee. The standard performance fee is £40, but this can vary depending on the production (details will be provided before each production).

What are the benefits to becoming a member?

As well as getting the opportunity to be involved in our productions, members are also invited to the AGM in August -this will allow you to hear a report on the past year & information about the next year's productions, and you will have the chance to vote on decisions relating to the Canterbury Players.

As a member, you can also join the Canterbury Players committee.

What are the benefits to joining the committee?

The committee meets regularly to discuss the progress of productions and social events (and the society overall), and it makes decisions for the year's upcoming productions. As a member of the committee, you will play a crucial role in the society and its journey over the coming years!
